carbon and wax transfer on paper
20.5 × 15 in (52.07 × 38.1 cm)The title of this work references the artist’s current zip code and upbringing in The Bronx, playing off of the territorial attitude in New York City regarding where one is from. The form of “BX” is debossed into paper squares, with those squares then embedded into a larger sheet of paper. In the final step of the process, Quevedo transfers carbon paper onto this textured surface, exposing its patterned impressions in order to draw constellation-like connections between each.
