Ronny Quevedo
every measure of zero (quarters)
2020

carbon and wax on
paper

10 × 13 in (25.4 × 33.02 cm)

Part of the ongoing series every measure of zero, this work was created by first debossing various, loose lines and measurements of a grid onto the paper. Next, a layer of carbon is transferred, followed by transferred wax from dressmaker’s paper. The parenthetical “quarters” within the work’s title makes references to an arbitrary division of space. As in Quevedo’s other works, the scale of this piece is dictated by the scale of the paper used—as is the chromatic range of the work by the inherent color of the transferred carbon and wax layers.
